I agree that Reed is not to blame for these deaths. It is callous and inappropriate to reduce something as complicated as addiction to a single point of responsibility. Let me assure you that I am not making any assumptions about how addicts get into trouble. I have experienced it first-hand, with family and with friends. I have spent many nights in hospitals caring for people who have taken turns for the worst because of decisions they make. I have suffered the repercussions of my own poor decisions. Every person has a different set of circumstances and support mechanisms, but we all make our own decisions. No one forces us to engage our addiction. Lauren, I am sorry for your loss.
